A Conversation for Women

Are you a mother, granny or caregiver, a daughter or sister, an aunt, a mentor or a friend? This is a resource that invites women to a conversation about the importance of active, present and positive fatherhood.

What do women have to do with a resource that’s all about fathers? A lot, in fact! Women give birth to the boys who become the fathers of tomorrow, and to the girls who will one day be partners or wives to these future fathers. Female caregivers shape the extent to which a father is involved in the lives of his children, and grandmas, aunts and mentors speak words over children that shape their future views of fatherhood.

More personally than that, your own father story – whether your father was present or absent, caring or hurtful, encouraging or distant – has huge bearing on the woman you become. Whether in your role as a mother, wife, partner, caregiver, friend, aunt or mentor.

We hope this resource gets you thinking and talking about what fatherhood means to you, and what you pass on to your child, or children in your life, about the importance of a loving, present father. But don’t have this conversation in your own head. Invite your friends, your relatives, your small group, your team, or a group of women to join in this conversation for women.

May it be a blessing to the children you care about – and to yourself.
