Digital behaviour change interventions to increase vegetable intake in adults: a systematic review

The systematic review analysed 30 studies to assess the effectiveness of digital interventions aimed at enhancing vegetable consumption among adults. The review found that only about 27% of these interventions were successful in significantly increasing vegetable intake. Effective interventions commonly incorporated behaviour change theories and involved stakeholders in their design. However, comprehensive co-design methods were underutilised, and the degree of personalisation varied widely across studies. The authors suggest that future digital interventions should integrate behaviour change theories, actively involve stakeholders in the design process, and address both individual behaviours and environmental factors influencing vegetable consumption.
