Forty years ago, treatment thousands of young people “turned up” in their numbers – not to get down and party but to stand together and be counted. History remembers them. Today we live in the victory of their legacy.
Forty years later we issue a challenge to the youth of 2016: Will you turn up – or own up?
Will young people today “turn up” (party) the day away on 16 June 2016? Will Youth Month merely be an opportunity to go from one jol or jaiva to the next?
Or will they “own up” to the day instead? Will they own up to their part in shaping Mzansi’s future; will they own up to the role they play in overcoming the struggles young people face in 2016?
Please join Heartlines, the Centre for Values Promotion, as we host a panel conversation with young leaders on this hot topic.
Panel guests include: Youth leaders & activists | Fasiha Hassan (Wits SRC leader) | Quinton Morake (Actor / Media personality)
