HEARTLINES ENCOURAGES CHURCHES TO JOIN THE 24/7 PRAYER MOVEMENT

The origin of 24/7 prayer and the astounding breakthroughs that have resulted from this movement, which was started in Germany in 1727 and lasted for 100 years, have have been well documented. The book "Red Moon Rising" by Pete Greig and Dave Roberts provided the inspiration for HEARTLINES to get involved in this prayer movement, encouraging churches to undertake to pray for a week of the year, with a focus on returning to Biblical values. The vision is that Christians will focus on praying Kingdom values into our communities and see God answer. These prayers should also result in an outworking of compassion and service for those in surrounding communities.

HEARTLINES 24-7 PRAYER WORKSHOP FEB 2008

What started at the foothills of the Magaliesberg in the North West Province at the aptly named "Hebron" conference centre, birthed a partnership of likeminded Christians, all with one passion: to see God’s purposes fulfilled for His creation. From afar field as Grahamstown, George and Queenstown, thirty delegates from organisations like Jericho Walls, NEPWO (National Evangelistic Prayer Watch Outreach) and HEARTLINES regional representatives got together to combine their experiences and work out how churches (and Christians in all sectors) could be encouraged to join the 24/7 prayer movement.

Exploring the "Boiler Room" concept in which a dedicated prayer room is set up, delegates signed up for an hour of prayer during the night. The prayer room that was set up gave all the participants an idea of how this could be replicated in any environment. Those who prayed experienced a very real sense of God’s presence and were inspired by the creative expressions of prayer designed by the Jericho Walls team. At the end of the workshops participants and representatives from different regions returned home energised and ready first to set up their own 24/7 prayer watch, in order to train others in this powerful and life-changing ministry.
