About Show Me The Money
Show Me The Money is a values-based campaign for young South Africans that launched in August 2015. The campaign aims to influence young South Africans’ attitudes and behaviours around money. Our hope is to see youth transformed around social issues such as materialism, buy cialis indebtedness, crime, corruption and job creation.
The campaign consists of four lessons, where the first lesson includes a viewing of the movie called Nothing for Mahala. The three lessons thereafter focus on the values of honesty, diligence and the careful and responsible use of resources (thrift). Each lesson includes video clips from Nothing for Mahala, as well as scripture, which help to generate a discussion around each of the key values.
This campaign was designed by Heartlines, which is an award winning South African NGO that uses stories to get people talking about values. Heartlines has produced films such as Nothing for Mahala and have also run various nationwide values campaigns for churches (www.heartlines.org.za).
