VALUES & MONEY BIBLE STUDY
This 6-week Bible study course addresses the underlying values driving our behaviours and attitudes when it comes to money and offers Biblical advice for living in financial freedom. Themes include:
God, my values & money / Honesty in earning / Responsibility in spending / Wisdom in borrowing / Self-control in saving / Generosity in giving.
This resource challenges us to answer the question: Am I serving God or money? It features clips from the film, Nothing for Mahala. It also includes practical advice on where to go for help in correcting destructive money behaviours.

A discussion group is a powerful platform for teaching concepts and ideas that have been triggered by the Heartlines stories. This new guide provides a platform for faith based leaders to help communities understand each of these values and to challenge us to live out these values in our everyday lives. This new discussion guide – Living Positive Values – comes with a DVD of 17-min edited versions of the 8 HEARTLINES films. The book contains group discussion material to be used with the DVD for teaching.
STORIES THAT TALK
Teaching positive values through telling stories is a tradition that has been used for centuries in many cultures, Heartlines is working within this tradition. Research has shown that an important age for learning values is the 3-7 category. To target this age group, Heartlines has produces a read-aloud story book for parents to use to initiate discussion about values in the home.
The HEARTLINES read-aloud story book, Stories that Talk, is a collection of 10 picture stories, each revolving around one value. The stories have different genres, some are realistic, others fables, some funny, some with more pictures than others. They are illustrated by different artists. The stories are interspersed with pages for adults. These include discussion questions and information on how to develop the particular value explored in the story in young children.
Some of the country’s leading children’s story tellers have contributed to the collection. They include Gcina Mhlophe, Glynis Clacherty, Kopano Sechele and Marianna Brandt. The stories are set in a range of South African contexts, from rural to township, city to veld. The collection was selected and edited by Glynis Clacherty and Sally Howes, in conjunction with HEARTLINES.

Stories that Teach is a Bible Story book for children designed for Sunday School classes or children’s ministry environments. The book will help facilitators teach values to groups of children through reading the stories and fun activities. It can be used with the popular children’s “Stories that Talk”

A NEW version of Values in Action, which includes DVDs of the film “Hopeville” and the Heartlaughs sketches, providing the Christian community with a seven week course which will mobilise small groups to undertake values-based action projects.
Inspired by the book of Nehemiah, the workbook is a practical guide that encourages Christians to be God’s effective change agents, transforming our communities for good.
The first week of the seven-week course is devoted to watching the Hopeville movie, then each weekly session includes a Bible study, real-life church action stories and a step-by-step guide for small groups to take practical action. The Heartlaughs sketches are an ideal way to break the ice and contain some learning points too.
Let this study guide you to identify with surrounding problems, to pray and ask God how He can use you to make a difference, to plan and do the action and evaluate the results.

VALUES IN ACTION for KIDS
A brand new Bible-based resource to help Children put good values into action. It offers 7 Bible lesson plans for teaching children in the age group 8 to 12 years.
This resource offers the Sunday School teacher a comprehensive curriculum for at least one term at Sunday School. Based on the story of Nehemiah, the Bible study lessons are accompanied by activity pages to re-inforce what the children have learned.
The lessons are aimed at encouraging the children to respond to a specific need in their own community and to plan, do and complete a practical project.
The Values in Action Practical Project booklet in the centre of the book guides the children through each step of implementing their selected project.
Church & youth leaders resource – DVD
This DVD & discussion guide can be used for workshops or sermons, camps or conferences. This DVD resource covers all those topics that are hard to address: HIV/AIDS, relationships, sex and the church, responsible drinking. It is based on clips from the HEARTLINES films.
A booklet inside the pack gives suggested topics and questions for discussion.
VALUES, RELATIONSHIPS and HIV booklet
The booklet, aimed at Christians, includes information on living out Godly values in relationships. It serves as a take-home resource following a workshop using the HEARTLINES DVD on the topic.
Alternatively, it can also stand on its own as an information booklet for individuals.
