Heartlines training for youth leaders and municipal managers in Mogale City
|
Municipal managers have a lot on their plate – electricity failures, water pipes bursting – the buck stops with them. Which is why it was so impressive that Municipal managers were so committed to attending the Values Leadership workshop held by Heartlines during the recent Mogale City Heartlines Comes to Town.
Over a three-day period, Heartlines also trained youth leaders, church leaders, and showed the Hopeville movie in a number of different locations. Thapelo Marman, who attended the church leaders training, said that the training was an eye-opener for him: “What a feeling! It is a WOW feeling. Heartlines facilitated and made me to understand that the YOUTH is the blood line of our Christian belief. This was not about a certain church or doctrine, but to love and serve the Lord. Take a minute and ask yourself: “Am I serving GOD as HE would like me to?” Take action on your answer.”
Heartlines worked with a Local Organizing Committee to put the blitz together, which consisted of representatives from the Speaker’s Office, business and church leaders. Certain organizations, such as Transformation SA, will be taking the training forward in schools, by setting up youth peer mentoring structures.
