On Saturday 11 September, HEARTLINES met with about 70 vibrant individuals in Johannesburg who are keen to join the Igniters Movement. An igniter is someone who is already involved in community work where he/she lives, is techno-savvy, and is willing to help create a network of South Africans working to change our country for good. The new forgood website is due to go live at the end of
September (www.forgood.co.za)
A further eleven regional conferences are planned across different centres in South Africa during October
Igniters are expected to help with the following:
- Providing feedback on the forgood site, especially with regards to its usability in different settings, content (resonance, usefulness, gaps)
- Sending us information – location, news, activities
- Promoting the platform to others
- Expanding the 'igniter pool'
- Helping to grow the forgood ‘movement
A number of pilot sites are going to be used which will receive particular focus and regular visits from the forgood team and act as test sites to demonstrate the effectiveness of the platform to others. It will also enable feedback for technical issues and suggestions for improvement.
