My experience as an intern

My experience as an intern

Funny how time flies! About a year ago I started my internship with the organisation that is Heartlines. I got to learn about what they do, how it was founded, and of course the faces behind the brand itself. I learnt about the importance of values and people service, which I am now trying to apply in my personal life.

The most important lesson I’ve learnt thus far is appreciating people, regardless of race, culture, age or background.

I appreciate social service more now, there’s nothing better than lifting others up in service. Through the work I’ve been doing with Heartlines, I’ve seen the impact that service has on people. It really goes a long way.

I had the opportunity to go to Modimolle with one of our team leaders to set up for the Values and Money campaign in that region. I had the opportunity to engage with diverse groups of people from local political members to students. This again taught me the importance of service and I also learnt about the rewards of hard work. If you show and put passion into what you do, people will also put in as much effort to give you a helping hand.

Going  forward, my mission is to continue serving and inspiring others as well.
