Drama Group reaches out to young people

june8eventHeartlines recently provided materials in support of Solid Ground Production’s “Whom to be Blamed” campaign in Soweto schools, help which aims to enlighten scholars about illegal abortion and child abandonment.

The drama group visited a number of schools with its 45-minute production, which makes young people aware of the dangers of succumbing to peer pressure. “Peer pressure and lack of proper communication between parents and young people are some of the reasons that influence teenage pregnancy and in some cases pregnancy terminations or child abandonment,” said Nhlanhla Sithole of Solid Ground Productions.

The group handed over the Heartlines Life Orientation manual “Values for Life”, as well as copies of the “Heartlines for Youth Putting Values into Action” manual to teachers at the schools they visited.
